The Management and Reporting Suite (MARS) is a centralised management and reporting tool that provides real time access and transactional reporting across your PC EFTPOS Point of Sale (POS) lanes.
MARS can be utilised by a head office, or centralised support (IT help desk) to perform a range of functions including: remote troubleshooting/diagnosis of lanes, deployment of software upgrades, configuration of lanes, and access to detailed transactional data.
Key Advantages
MARS provides a number of benefits, including:
- Central access - MARS provides real-time remote access to your entire network of EFTPOS lanes from the head office and/or IT support area
- Control - provides you with all PC EFTPOS information in real time. Centralised management allows you to troubleshoot and perform upgrades from your head office and/or IT support area
- Increase efficiency - reduce system down time as technical support can be performed from the head office rather than having to dispatch someone to site in order to diagnose and fix a problem
- Consolidated reporting - the reporting module is able to access each PC EFTPOS lane and show transactional information in a variety of ways (by card type, date, time, etc). This data can be exported (CSV format) for further analysis.
Examples of MARS reporting functionality include:
- Reconciliation - individual lane information can be accessed via a head office allowing the user to view electronic copies of EFTPOS receipts or any pending Electronic Off-line Voucher (EOV) transactions which assists in identifying possible discrepancies in end of day settlement
- Business intelligence - detailed transactional information can provide insight into the busiest lanes/peak transactional times, card use and transaction type
- Deployment of software upgrades - PC EFTPOS software upgrades can be controlled centrally with updates being able to be selectively applied to specific lanes or applied globally across all lanes. Allows quick and efficient deployment of upgrades, (either for compliance or to access new functionality)
- Troubleshooting/monitoring - head office or helpdesk can view the status and configuration of a specific lane to identify issues/or diagnose problems such as the status of the communications gateway, or a possible fault being experienced at the lane
How It Works
MARS is provided as a separate piece of software to PC EFTPOS - and is installed on one or more PCs located at either a head office, or central support area (such as the IT Help Desk). The MARS software is provided on a subscription basis, renewable annually. Each MARS license requires a license key to be entered at the time of installation in order to activate the software. Details on activating your MARS software are provided with the MARS installation software and user guide which will be provided to you.
What You Need
In order to utilise MARS, you need:
- A MARS enabled version of PC EFTPOS
- SQL database - in order to utilise the MARS reporting functionality
- MARS installation software and user guide
