Gift Cards

With the increasing popularity of electronic Gift Cards and the many advantages they offer over traditional paper gift vouchers, EFTPOS New Zealand has partnered with Ezi-Pay and eCard Solutions to accept their cards through terminals connected to the EFTPOS New Zealand network.

Gift Cards look similar to a credit card but work like a gift voucher. Instead of having a credit balance like a credit card, Gift Cards have a positive balance. The value on the card can be used all at once, or it can be used again and again until the balance reaches zero. Some cards can then be reloaded and used again.

Gift Station (Ezi-Pay)

Ezi-Pay provides Gift Cards for a number of New Zealand's leading brands. Cards are purchased by consumers at Gift Stations in over 400 stores throughout New Zealand or online. Cards are available from more than 60 leading brands such as Bond & Bond, Pit Stop, R&R Sport, Liquorland, Jeanswest, Principals, Kodak, Paper Plus, Life Pharmacy and many more. These Gift Cards are redeemable for goods in the selected store.

eCard Solutions

eCard gift and loyalty card solutions can only be purchased and redeemed at the same retailer. The cards can be topped up and used as gift vouchers as well as allowing your customers to earn points for purchases. Accumulated points can then be redeemed for goods and services in your store. This system also allows you to collect information about who your customers are and their spending habits.

How does it work?

  • Customers purchase goods or services in the same way as an EFTPOS transaction using the purchase function on your EFTPOS terminal
  • The purchase amount is deducted from the balance available on the card. A receipt which shows the remaining balance on the card is printed following the purchase
  • No PIN is required
  • Most cards can be reloaded at any time using the refund function on your EFTPOS terminal.
